Eco Friendly Sanitary Napkins

Menstrual waste makes up a large chunk of non-biodegradable waste, and is also a huge health hazard. Here are some ways you can contribute to clearing up this mess, and adopting sustainable menstruation measures.

The comic appears in my column with Sunday Mid-day. The list is certainly not exhaustive, and there may be many more brands making eco-friendly menstrual products that I'm not aware of (please excuse my extremely limited experience with using sanitary pads!).  If you're aware of more such brands, do mention in the comments below. Thanks to my friend Sugandhi Gadadhar for her inputs.

This comic also marks two years of my association with Mid-Day. A big thanks to the Mid-Day team for giving my strip prime space and for being an environmentally conscious newspaper!

    1. Thank you very much Rohan for this! SOCH Green: your products look really good, reviews about cloth pads confirmed my decision even further. I have ordered cloth pads. Just wondering are these products also available across the counter in Pune? Would like to see inter -labia pads and even other products. Thank you.

  5. Saukhyam Reusable pads are better for your health, easier on your wallet, and better for the planet.
Saukhyam Reusable Pads, you are saying yes to a product that is good for the body and good for our Mother Earth.
It’s time to realize that in today’s world, it’s disposable pads that are the old-fashioned idea.
There are now far better ways for women to go through their monthly period and come out feeling good, nurtured and empowered.
