Cartoons for the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction

Thanks to a very dynamic bunch of folks from the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, I got an opportunity to draw cartoons for their technical forum held in Bonn in December 2025. Here are some of the many cartoons created over three days of intensive technical sessions on various aspects of disaster risk reduction.

The Many Faces of Climate Change

The worsening impacts of climate change on the world week after week and month after month, have been exposing the hypocrisy of world leaders with their stance on fossil fuels. Comic from my column with The Hindu Sunday Magazine.

Cyclone Management and Mangroves

As India braces itself for Cyclone Amphan in the middle of a pandemic, let us remember that our very first line of defence against cyclones, mangroves, are under threat from both the Central and State governments. Some of these threats are the MoEFCC's ill-conceived policy of waiving EIAs for onshore oil and gas exploration, its draft EIA which will do away with clearance regulations for various projects along the coasts at the cost of mangroves, and unplanned development and construction along coasts by various state governments by clearing mangroves.

Environmental Video Games and Indian Government

If the Vizag gas leak incident does not teach us the importance of having a proper environment impact assessment module in place, nothing else will.
