Vanishing colors!

We all know that the Solar System's eventual fate is to burn out, like all planetary bodies. But we seem to be in some kind of a contest to see how soon we can make the earth get there! The more fossil fuels we burn and the more we delay our switch to green energy, the faster we ensure the martians of their chance of having the last laugh.

Great Indian Bustard

Habitat destruction for agriculture, and industrialization are the main conservation threats faced by the Great Indian Bustard Ardeotis nigriceps, an endangered species. The bird that lost out to the Peacock when India's national bird was to be chosen by the then Prime Minister, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru, is today one of the most endangered birds in the country. Recent surveys reveal that bustard numbers are steadily declining and many of them are already extinct from areas they thrived in earlier. Some ornithologists feel that it is already too late for us to save the Great Indian Bustard.

Coal Mines in Tadoba

Coal miners are after the blood of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, located unfortunately in the mineral rich belt of Central India. Unsustainable mining practices have devastated entire stretches of pristine forest earlier and it takes no fortune teller to guess what will happen if if these mines are allowed to operate in Tadoba.
