Polymorphism in the Malabar Pit Viper

The Malabar Pit Viper is one of India's most beautiful snakes, found in the Western Ghats. It is not only a master of camouflage, but is also known for sporting a huge array of colours! The adaptation is believed to give the viper a survival advantage, as it can potentially confuse its predators about the snake's identifying characteristics.
