Live Cartoons at COP27

Green Humour is live (virtually) at COP27, Sharm-al-Shaikh, Egypt! I am attending COP virtually from India, and creating live cartoons for various sessions through the duration of the event, commissioned by the Global Resilience Partnership. Here's the first set of cartoons created for a session conducted by the World Art Forum, highlighting the role of art in tackling climate change. Watch this space for more cartoons updates from the event.

The second set of cartoons created for a session conducted by the IIED (International Institute for Environment and Development), which had speakers from the governments of Gabon, Gambia, Seychelles and Egypt.

Cartoons from day 3 of COP27 from a session on loss and damage funding for climate resilience, conducted by the Loss and Damage Youth Coalition (LDYC), World Resources Institute, International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) and Insuresilience.

Cartoons from day 4 of COP27, created for a session on heat resilience conducted by the Atlantic Council and Arsht-Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Centre, which had speakers from the governments of Mexico, Sierra Leone and Greece.

Cartoons from day 5 of Cop 27, from a session on fishing communities and climate resilience, conducted by RARE and the Global Island Partnership, with speakers and representatives from the Philippines, Micronesia, Palau and Indonesia. The session gave me the rare chance of focussing on the positive side of things, with successful case studies of climate resilience resulting from marine conservation!

Cartoons from day 6 of COP27 from a session on accountability in climate finance and emphasizing local-led adaptation, conducted by International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), World Resources Institute (WRI), and Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI).

Cartoons from a COP27 session on climate vulnerability of culture and heritage in Africa, with speakers from Tanzania, Nigeria, Benin and Uganda, moderated by Dr. Salma Sabour of the Climate Vulnerability Index Africa project.

Cartoons from a COP27 session on the role of cultural communication in reshaping climate policy, conducted by some stellar speakers, moderated by Julie's Bicycle.

Cartoons from a COP27 session on the role of grey-green infrastructure in climate change mitigation and resilience, conducted by ICSI (International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure) and Conservation International.

Cartoons from a COP27 session on voices of informal settlements in climate action, conducted by Slum Dwellers International.

Thanks to Annette Hertwig of the Global Resilience Partnership for the opportunity!
